An Ottawa-based businesswoman surprised the court by telling her that she had actually burned a million dollars to prevent ex-wives and children from giving up nonfiction. Bruce McConnell told the judge that he extracted a million Canadian dollars on 25 different occasions in 6 months and burned them twice. He said he burned $ 7.443 million on September 23 and $ 266,000 on December 15. He claimed that he had receipts for the money withdrawn from the court, but Bruce failed to provide any evidence to burn the money. They do not even have video footage of the money burned. Bruce told the court that he burned the money upset by the prosecution, even though he thought he was not doing good to his children.
